The state government is organizing a two-day job fair called “Yuva Samruddhi Sammelana” at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru from February 26, aimed at addressing unemployment issues ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. Approximately 31,000 youths from across the state have already enrolled for the event, with more expected to register, according to Skill Development Minister Sharan Prakash Patil and IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge. The fair, organized by the Skills Development & Livelihood department, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. The event follows the rollout of the Congress party’s “Yuva Nidhi” scheme, promising a monthly stipend for graduates and diploma holders. Over 500 national and multinational companies will participate, offering around one lakh job vacancies. The fair aims to provide a platform for youth to find suitable employment based on their qualifications and skills, with targeted outreach to graduates and engineering diploma holders. Unsuccessful candidates will receive skills training to enhance their job prospects in the future. The fair will feature approximately 600 stalls for candidates to explore opportunities, with private company executives and experts providing guidance. Skill Development Minister Patil emphasized the importance of candidate participation for the success of the initiative, while IT/BT Minister Kharge highlighted Karnataka’s strengths in infrastructure and skilled workforce, attributing the state’s success to initiatives during the UPA regime at the Centre.
