Tensions have arisen within the Samajwadi Party and its ally the Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) as a heated argument reportedly erupted between Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and Apna Dal (K) Chief Pallavi Patel over the Rajya Sabha voting on Tuesday according to sources. During a phone conversation Akhilesh Yadav allegedly informed Pallavi Patel that her vote was not needed for the Rajya Sabha election. Additionally the Samajwadi Party suffered a setback when MLA and leader Manoj Kumar Pandey resigned from the position of Chief Whip. Pandey met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the Legislative Assembly where he expressed his request for the party chief to accept his resignation. Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh was also present during the meeting. Commenting on Pandey resignation UP Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh stated that Pandey was a supporter of Sanatan Dharma and attributed his resignation to his dissatisfaction with the party. Singh highlighted the influence of Prime Minister Modi’s policies and the country development as factors prompting public representatives to join the BJP. Furthermore Samajwadi Party MLA Rakesh Pratap Singh hinted at voting against the party stating that he would listen to his inner conscience before casting his vote. Despite internal tensions Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav participated in the voting process. Meanwhile Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar predicted cross voting suggesting that eight BJP candidates would secure victory in the Rajya Sabha election.
