AAP likened the actions of the Modi government to the British Raj drawing a comparison with the Jallianwala Bagh massacre led by General Dyer. They condemned the shooting of unarmed farmers and labeled it as a cowardly act. AAP emphasized that farmers who sustain the nation are being subjected to torture by the Modi BJP government. Additionally Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed sadness over the death of a young farmer and pledged to take strict action against those accountable after the completion of the postmortem. A young man named Subhkaran was killed and several others were injured on the Punjab Haryana border as protesters resumed their Delhi Chalo agitation. The Haryana Police fired tear gas shells to prevent attempts to breach barricades at Shambhu and Khanauri border points. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed sadness over Subhkarans death questioning whether the sacrifice for freedom was meant for a day when elected governments in India would martyr their own citizens akin to the British regime. Kejriwal pledged support for Subhkaran and vowed to ensure strict punishment for his killers. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that law and order were under control but accused the Haryana Police of disrupting it in the Khanauri incident.
