The MP MLA court judge, Shobhit Bansal issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against former BJP MP and film actor Jaya Prada for her non appearance in court on previous dates related to two cases concerning violations of the code of conduct. Despite repeated notices and previous NBWs Jaya Prada failed to attend the court hearings leading to the issuance of the NBW. The cases stem from alleged violations during the 2019 election code of conduct and were registered in the Special MP/MLA Court in Rampur with the Kemri and Swar police stations involved. Inspector Ranji Trivedi reported that Jaya Prada was evading authorities and her mobile phone was switched off. Consequently action under Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) was demanded against her resulting in the issuance of the NBW. The court has scheduled the next hearing for March 6th.
