A major crisis involving diesel and cylinder gas shortages has arisen in Punjab due to the ongoing farmers protest. Ministry sources reported that roadblocks and safety concerns have severely affected the supply of diesel and LPG gas in the region. Meanwhile preparations for a tractor march by farmers towards Delhi on February 26 have disrupted traffic at the Delhi Noida border. The Delhi Police have intensified checks and installed barricades at border points causing traffic diversions. The protest has also impacted traffic movement at the Singhu and Tikri border points between Delhi and Haryana. Despite partial reopening of these points congestion persists. The farmers demands include MSP for crops and farm loan waiver. In an effort to alleviate road congestion Delhi traffic police plan to convert duty point areas into beat areas.
