Following the Supreme Court’s refusal to entertain a plea for a CBI or SIT probe into the sexual assault cases in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari stated that they would abide by the court’s order. Adhikari mentioned that after a full day of hearings, they were leaving upon receiving the court’s order, expressing hope that there would not be a need for a third court appearance. He also noted that senior officers had requested his presence in Sandeshkhali after 11 am. The situation in Sandeshkhali has led to a verbal confrontation between the ruling and opposition parties, with the BJP alleging women’s atrocities and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accusing the BJP of instigating trouble in the region.
