Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government of engaging in “politics of revenge” by freezing the bank accounts of Congress and Youth Congress. He criticized the government’s actions, referring to the Supreme Court’s criticism of the Modi government’s policies. Ramesh highlighted the government’s use of electoral bonds and subsequent freezing of Congress’ accounts, labeling it as a retaliatory move. He further criticized the Prime Minister for his alleged tendency towards vengeance, harassment, and threats against political opponents. Ramesh also accused the BJP of double standards, pointing out their inclusion of leaders who have left Congress while previously advocating for a “Congress-free India.” Regarding the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh, Ramesh discussed Rahul Gandhi’s itinerary, including visits to Kashi Vishwanath temple, a roadshow, a public rally, and meetings with various groups. Regarding reports of Sonia Gandhi contesting from Rae Bareli, Ramesh deferred to the Central Election Committee’s decision.
