Heavy traffic congestion has been observed at the Delhi-Gurugram border due to barricades set up by the Delhi Police in anticipation of the farmers’ protest on Wednesday. Gurugram Traffic Police took to X (formerly Twitter) to inform commuters about the situation, stating that traffic jams have occurred on NH 48 as a result of the barricades. They assured the public that traffic personnel are on-site to manage the situation and apologized for any inconvenience caused. Commuters were advised to allocate extra time for their journeys, especially those heading to the airport. Additionally Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for the morning hours, urging drivers to avoid certain routes due to special traffic arrangements. Specifically commuters were advised to steer clear of IP Marg in both directions from IP Flyover towards A point and vice versa as well as areas around ITO Chowk DDU Marg BSZ Marg JLN Marg Shanti Van crossing and Rajghat crossing between 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Earlier in the day, Sarwan Singh Pandher the General Secretary of Punjab Kisan Mazdoor announced that only farmer leaders rather than all farmers would participate in the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march towards the national capital. He emphasized the peaceful nature of the march and expressed the hope that the government would address their demands particularly regarding Minimum Support Price (MSP) laws.
