The sequel to Priyamani 2022 OTT film Bhamakalapam starts promisingly but loses its charm as it progresses. The Telugu film industry has a history of producing exceptional films like “Money Money Kshana Kshanam, andChantabbai as seen in the groundbreaking Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya  in 2019. However, recent films such as DJ Tillu  and Raja Raja Chora have reduced the genre to predictable tropes. Unfortunately Abhimanyu Tadimeti’s Bhamakalapam 2  available on Aha struggles to stand out in this saturated landscape. The story follows YouTuber Anupama (Priyamani), who, after her previous misadventures, attempts to lead a quieter life running a restaurant with her former domestic worker Shilpa (Sharanya Pradeep). However, a series of events involving a chipped ceiling, a cooking show, a drug dealer, and a corrupt cop pull her back into the world of crime. While the first film centered around a Faberge egg, this sequel revolves around a golden rooster. Despite the similarities, the sequel fails to capture the freshness and excitement of its predecessor, feeling repetitive and uninspired instead. Abhimanyu Tadimeti repeats some of the same mistakes from the original film, particularly in terms of pacing. While it’s believable that Anupama would find herself in trouble again, the film struggles to maintain engagement. Overall “Bhamakalapam 2” lacks the spark and energy that made the first installment memorable, leaving viewers wanting more.
