JTBC’s medical K-drama “Doctor Slump,” featuring Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye, initially saw a surge in ratings but has since experienced a significant decline. After reaching a peak viewership rating of 6.7% during the Lunar New Year holiday, it dropped by half following the latest episode’s release. Taking over the time slot from JTBC’s hit show “Welcome to Samdalri,” the series faced tough competition from other shows like MBC’s “Knight Flower.” The decline in ratings may also be attributed to the lack of a compelling turning point to engage viewers’ interest. However, experts believe the downturn is temporary and anticipate a recovery with new episodes. Despite domestic challenges, “Doctor Slump” continues to perform well on Netflix, ranking in the Top 10 in 27 countries. The show’s 7th and 8th episodes are scheduled to air on February 17th and 18th.
