Actor Rituraj Singh, known for his roles in films such as “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” (2017) and “Satyameva Jayate 2” (2021), as well as popular television shows like “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii,” passed away on Tuesday at the age of 59. He is survived by his wife Charu Singh, son Adhiraaj, and daughter Jahaan. Actor and friend Amit Behl confirmed the news, stating that Singh had been hospitalized for stomach issues but was discharged a few days prior. He passed away due to a cardiac arrest at his home around 12:30 am. Singh, born in 1964 in Rajasthan, began his acting career in 1992 with the English film “Miss Beatty’s Children” and remained active in the industry until recently, appearing in the popular show  Anupama. Director Milap Zaveri who worked with Singh in “Satyameva Jayate 2 fondly remembered him as full of life and passionate about his work. Zaveri praised Singh dedication to rehearsing dialogues in advance and described him as a gentleman and a great actor, expressing deep sorrow over his passing. Actress Shweta Basu Prasad, who portrayed Singh’s daughter-in-law in “Badrinath Ki Dulhania,” shared a memory from the set, recalling Singh’s natural swag and how he was considered the coolest in the gang. She mentioned that Singh and Shah Rukh Khan, who were friends, started their careers in the same theatre group, and Singh’s walk had reportedly inspired Khan in the 90s.
