At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 event in Barcelona Lenovo introduced a groundbreaking innovation the ThinkBook Transparent Concept laptop boasting a stunning 17.3 inch display reminiscent of science fiction. This remarkable device features a borderless screen a transparent keyboard area and a sleek floating footpad design. The laptop 17.3 inch borderless screen offers up to 55% transparency when pixels are set to black although transparency diminishes when pixels are illuminated. With a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a 720p display the ThinkBook Transparent Concept promises impressive visual clarity as reported by The Verge. Notably the device utilizes a MicroLED display rather than the more common AMOLED panel with the MicroLED technology purportedly delivering superior saturation transparency brightness and image quality according to the Times of India. Although specific hardware specifications were not disclosed by Lenovo the company revealed that the laptop operates on the Windows 11 operating system aligning with other premium offerings in the market. In addition to its transparent display Lenovo concept video showcased a flat touch keyboard which is a projection rather than a physical keyboard. Notably the keyboard disappears when a pen is brought close to the ThinkBook offering a seamless transition between input methods.
